Adopting and caring for an Olympiad

  • Adopting: Adding a lush, well-grown Philodendron Olympiad to a plant collection is a feeling only a true plant parent can understand.
  • Locating: Philodendrons are shade growers that thrive in medium to bright light even though they are known to tolerate low light conditions too. If you are locating them indoors it’s best to rotate the plants around once every few weeks, giving them a bright window or a balcony for a few days.
  • Potting: Philodendrons do not need any special type of potting soil. Being a tropical native, they do well in any well-drained potting soil rich with organic material. Use a mix of coco-peat, compost, sand in 20:60:20 ratio
  • Watering: Overwatering is the chief cause of disease or death of any plant. While a Philodendron needs regular watering, do ensure that you don’t overwater them. To get the plant to show off its richly colored leaves it is best to wipe them clean with a moist tissue or cloth once every month. In drier months, misting them a few times a day could help improve humidity around the plant, helping them flourish.
  • Fertilizing: Feeding your Philodendron a few times a year is a good way to get them to stay healthy. Give them some organic liquid fertilizer once or twice a year. Dilute it in water as described on the pack and add little to each pot as part of your watering routine. If you are using a chemical fertilizer do ensure that you keep it away from the plant and its base.
  • A Philodendron is an easy to care plant that keeps on giving. You can take cuttings of any stem from the plant, place it in a bottle or jar of water, and in days it will begin to root. Even in just water, these clippings will root and leaf out.

Did you know

Did you know: Many Philodendrons, including the Olympiad, change their leaf forms as they mature. What starts out as a generic, heart-like form will evolve into more distinctive shapes as the plant grows bigger and matures.

My Baby loves his new baby!
Size: Medium, Size: Medium
Finally! A ball my 107 lb. pitty/pointer mix can’t destroy. He has torn up every single “indestructible” toy in a day or so until now. He peels fabric and fur off non-rubber toys. He is a 4-legged shredder. I’ve added pictures of him for a size reference of my dog versus this product. I know I had wanted that when shopping for this item. This ball is now his beloved “baby.” He goes absolutely insane looking for it, chewing it, chasing it, and even sleeping with it. He won’t rest unless he knows exactly where it is. It is his only toy, and he is good with that. After getting this home, I tried giving him other choices, but he won’t touch them. I was worried that he would rip it apart by putting his teeth in the holes, but so far, not a scratch. It is soft enough to collapse just enough to keep it from cracking when his jaws crush it but not so soft that he can rip it to sheds. The holes are large enough to prevent a suction or vacuum effect on his tongue or mouth. For his size jaws, it is a perfect fit. Other dogs might have problems with suction or be able to get their teeth in those holes and rip it apart. Who knows? The older version of the Chuckit squeaky ball was his favorite for the year and a half he had it, but the way they make them now, he peels off the orange triangle in hours flat, the squeaker falls out (choking hazard), and then he rips it apart. I’m going to stock up on these. I can’t imagine how crazy he will be if they ever stop production or change the materials.

Well made product!
We have a younger dog 🐕 that loves to play, and these balls are his favorite. He sometimes won't give them back for another throw, as he also likes to play tug of war. You would think with the amount he plays with them they would show some wear and tear. These balls have stood up to his abuse, and don't even show a tooth mark. They are durable beyond our expectations.

Sheba loves these balls. I always keep extras. Light weight and easy to throw. They last abut 1 month before my dog chews thru it..

Awesome for my active dog
My dog loves to play with these balls in and outside the house. They are tougher than I thought they would be.
